Republicans in Congress are now under investigation by the Office of Congressional Ethics for leaks from Congress members. If popular vote loser Donald Trump were as concerned about “leaking” as he pretends to be, he might start with his own party.
Rep. Tom Rooney (R. FL) says the atmosphere on the House Intelligence Committee is “absolute poison”:
Rooney said one reason for the tension is an erosion of trust, exacerbated by an ongoing ethics investigation into the “entire Republican staff,” including “the woman up front that answers the phone” for alleged leaks. He later added that the matter was being handled by the Office of Congressional Ethics.
That’s right, the GOP lead House Intelligence Committee is being looked into by the Office of Congressional Ethics. Wrap your mind around that for a moment.
This report comes in the wake of reports that Republicans in the intel committee are planning to build a literal wall between themselves and their Democratic colleagues’ offices.
Rooney claims it’s all part of the fact that bipartisanship “is gone. It’s gone from that committee.”
Committee Chair and Trump/Putin/Kremlin puppet Devin Nunes is responsible for the break down in bipartisanship and for the idea of the divider between the parties’ offices, according to Rep. Mike Conway (R. TX): “I’m not part of that decision. You’ve got to talk to Devin. I don’t know what they’re trying to do one way or the other.”
This is the committee in charge of investigating Trump and his campaign/administration’s ties to Russia. Looks like a real competent bunch there.
