You’ve probably heard the phrase “but her emails!” mockingly used against supporters of popular vote loser Donald Trump, referring to the fact that they’ll excuse any of Trump’s massive corruption and ineptitude because Hillary Clinton used a personal email server for government business while Secretary of State.
Ironic then, that the big report released on Thursday, that Trump will no doubt falsely claim taints the Mueller probe into his Russia ties (it has absolutely ZERO to do with that investigation), actually says as much about Trump and his team than it does about Clinton.
If any Trump supporter ever again tries to tell you that they support him because Clinton was a security risk because of her emails, you know they actually don’t care about that. It’s just an excuse to cover the fact that they actually support him not matter how unqualified he is.
Data analysis from Nate Silver shows that FBI Director James Comey’s letter to congress about Hillary Clinton 10 days before the election had a clear and measurable impact on the election results in Donald Trump’s favor.
In another tweet, Silver showed a graph demonstrating late-deciding voters overwhelmingly supported Republican candidate Donald Trump in three key states. 59 percent of these late-deciding voters in Wisconsin wound up supporting Trump, compared to 30 percent who backed Clinton. In Pennsylvania the ratio was 54 percent to 37 percent for Trump and in Michigan 50 percent to 39 percent in favor of Trump.
Hillary Clinton said, “There are lots of reasons why an election like this is not successful,” Clinton told top donors on a farewell conference call.
“But our analysis is that (FBI Director James B.) Comey’s letter raising doubts that were groundless, baseless, proven to be, stopped our momentum,” Hillary said.
“We dropped, and we had to keep really pushing ahead to regain our advantage – which going into the last weekend, we had. We were once again up in all but two of the battleground states, and we were up considerably in some that we ended up losing. And we were feeling like we had put it back together,” she continued.
Combined with the news that Russia clearly interfered with the election, this news makes it certain that Donald Trump’s victory was the most illegitimate in US history.
Perhaps the best response lately comes from Hillary Clinton herself – I’ll just leave this here without further comment:
