Senator John McCain (R – AZ) has been a fairly outspoken critic of popular vote loser Donald Trump over the last several months. But over the weekend, McCain blasted Trump like never before, after Trump sided with Putin and the Russians over American Intelligence agencies.
McCain posted the following statement on his official Senate web page:
“President Trump today stated that he believed Vladimir Putin is being sincere when he denies Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and reiterated that he hopes to cooperate with Russia in Syria. There’s nothing ‘America First’ about taking the word of a KGB colonel over that of the American intelligence community. There’s no ‘principled realism’ in cooperating with Russia to prop up the murderous Assad regime, which remains the greatest obstacle to a political solution that would bring an end to the bloodshed in Syria. Vladimir Putin does not have America’s interests at heart. To believe otherwise is not only naive but also places our national security at risk.” -John McCain
So, where do we go from here? We don’t expect the avalanche of Republicans to stop any time soon.
Bob Corker and Jeff Flake were also among those who condemned Donald Trump recently. It couldn’t be any clearer, folks. Trump’s own party doesn’t feel that he is mentally capable of do his job.
It also couldn’t be any clearer that Trump’s personal allegiance to Vladimir Putin is growing stronger by the day.
Soon after John McCain issued his statement, Trump went on the following Twitter tirade.:
Congress has an obligation to act. But when will that actually happen?
When will enough Republicans in Congress grow a set and do the right thing?
Don’t hold your breath, one thing is clear…more and more Republicans are waking up against Trump.
