On Wednesday it was announced that President Donald Trump was shaking up his National Security Council a little bit, by moving top strategist Steve Bannon off the council and elevating the Joint Chiefs of Staff back to their higher role.
But, as some are warning, don’t celebrate Bannon’s downgraded role too much yet. His influence on the President’s agenda and policies will likely still be quite large. CNN reported potential shifts in power, and some even reported that Bannon was stripped of his security clearance, which turned out not to be true.
What probably actually happened was that Trump reversed the “accidental” appointment of Bannon to the NSC, when he signed a memorandum he didn’t realize gave Bannon a seat at the table. (Yes, this really happened…this is real life, folks.)

So don’t get too excited. Looks like Bannon’s racist agenda will continue having it’s way with this administration’s decision making.
