The Big Story Isn’t Trump’s Memo to Mueller…It’s Who Leaked It

Earlier this week, the New York Times released Trump’s confidential memo to Special Counsel Robert Mueller. While it wasn’t clear at the time who leaked it, history tells us that there’s a very strong likelihood that Trump himself was behind the leak. It’s not too difficult to put the peaces together.

Anyone paying attention at all over the last 2 years knows that Trump suffers from a serious case of projection. If he does anything wrong and gets caught, he almost immediately starts blaming others for the very thing he has been accused of or caught doing.

As soon as election rigging was alleged against the Trump campaign and the Russians, Trump’s defense was to accuse Hillary of being the one guilty of Russian collusion. We could literally write a book with examples like this, but you get the point.

When this Trump memo to Robert Mueller was published Trump abruptly tweeted “Is the Special Counsel/Justice Department leaking my lawyers letters to the Fake News Media? Should be looking at Dems corruption instead?”

Did you catch that? He’s projecting again. He just accused Mueller and the DOJ of leaking the document, but we know from his past behavior that means he’s likely involved in some way with the leak.

Robert Mueller would NEVER have leaked the memo. It would weaken his position, not to mention Mueller keeps an extremely tight lid on everything he does. Mueller does not give away confidential communication. So what is Trump up to?

The 20-page memo to Mueller letter says that Trump could not possibly have committed obstruction in the Russia investigation because the Constitution give him the power to “terminate the inquiry, or even exercise his power to pardon if he so desired.”

Interesting that Trump would make the same claim today that the memo makes about pardoning himself, further supporting the idea that Trump was involved in the leak:

This may be his strangest move to date. The memo was dated in January and lists several threats to Mueller. Clearly, Mueller was not phased as he continued with the investigation over the last several months.

Not surprisingly, Trump hasn’t followed through on any of his threats. He’s weak, but he’s delusional enough to believe that this memo makes him look strong and in control. That’s how narcissism works, after all.
