According to a new lawsuit filed by the Attorney General of the State of New York, Donald Trump’s charitable non-profit entity, the Trump Foundation, participated in widespread fraudulent activity in relation to the Donald Trump campaign. Of course, this news doesn’t really come as a surprise considering the number of accusations the media made about the Trump Organization and all of its improprieties. Nevertheless, when the news surfaced, Donald Trump became triggered (as always) and tweeted about it in anger.
“The sleazy New York Democrats, and their now disgraced (and run out of town) A.G. Eric Schneiderman, are doing everything they can to sue me on a foundation that took in $18,800,000 and gave out to charity more money than it took in, $19,200,000. I won’t settle this case!” he tweeted.
“Schneiderman, who ran the Clinton campaign in New York, never had the guts to bring this ridiculous case, which lingered in their office for almost 2 years. Now he resigned his office in disgrace, and his disciples brought it when we would not settle,” he continued.
Trump doesn’t seem to understand that this new suit was brought by New York’s new Attorney General Barbara Underwood, not Eric Schneiderman. Schneiderman is not involved in this civil suit whatsoever. He resigned last month after being accused of violence toward a number of women.
Or…perhaps Trump DOES understand this, and in true Trump fashion decided to reference Schneiderman’s name twice, as a rouge of sorts, in order to distract from his Foundation’s improprieties.
Either way, his stubborn will is on full display here, and it appears he is adamant that he will not settle this time around on the Trump Foundation. However, if this suits goes to trial and drags on for years as expected, you can’t help but wonder why he wouldn’t settle.
