We all know that just a few months ago, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. They were interested in his role in bringing the Trump-Russia dossier to the attention of the public.
We were by Republican Chairman Chuck Grassley’s who suggested he would release the transcripts of the hearing, but hasn’t seemed in any hurry to do so. Not to mention, he then began pushing for criminal charges against the author, despite knowing the facts behind it.
Well, the wait is now over, as Dianne Feinstein has released the transcripts, which has caused a political earthquake in Washington.
Senator Feinstein released all 312 pages of the testimony transcripts. No one knew if the Dems could in fact get these out to the public because of the Republican strong hold on them, but Feinstein didn’t seem bothered by their protests and disapproval.
Grassley and another Republican member of the committee, Lindsey Graham, are now seeking criminal charges against former M16 agent Christopher Steele who wrote the dossier, which looks like it could be an attempt to protect Trump and the Dems are calling them out on it.
Feinstein said yesterday “The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice. The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public.”
We couldn’t agree more. Read the entire thing here.
Naturally, Trump had a meltdown about the release. Trump said: “The fact that Sneaky Dianne Feinstein, who has on numerous occasions stated that collusion between Trump/Russia has not been found, would release testimony in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way, totally without authorization, is a disgrace. Must have tough Primary!”
