If you’re still looking for reasons that America is in a very dangerous place with the current administration, just check back here every day. There’s at least one new reason every single day.
Yesterday, it was reported that Trump’s ambassador to Germany was at risk of being kicked out of the country by the German government for his ties to a pro-Nazi group. Oh, but I forgot, we’re just snowflakes who are overreacting when we compare the Trump administration to Nazis, right?
Scott Dworkin with the Democratic Coalition points out: “BREAKING: German politicians are calling for Trump’s US Ambassador in Berlin to be expelled, after saying he wanted to empower a political party founded by nazis. Trump’s a grave threat to our national security. Congress must flush Putin’s little puppet out of the White House.”
Angela Merkel is being called on to expel the US ambassador to Germany after the American official, Richard Grenell, said he was working to “strengthen” right-wing political movements in Europe.
Donald Trump appointed Richard Grenell, who has only been in office since May 8th, but has already created a political earthquake with comments he made in an interview with Breitbart.
From The Independent: The German foreign ministry said it had “asked the US side for clarification” after the card-carrying Republican appeared to say he wanted to intervene in European politics – a massive breach of diplomatic protocol.
“I absolutely want to empower other conservatives throughout Europe, other leaders,” he was quoted by the website as saying, also adding that he thought Mr Trump’s election had “empowered” people fighting against the political establishment.
The comments have caused massive outrage in Germany and come at a time where the far-right party, the AfD, recently entered the Bundestag for the first time in decades and “is seen as stirring up resentment against Muslims and other minorities.”
Things get scarier by the day under the Trump administration.
