Donald Trump likes to fire people that get too close to his massive corruption. Everybody knows that is why Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, U.S. attorney Preet Bharara, and Acting Attorney General Sally Yates. They were all getting too close for comfort, which is exactly why we fully expect him to fire Robert Mueller.
Reports out of Washington are suggesting that Trump may once again be considering firing someone in charge of an investigation into his corruption. This time, his target will be former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who is currently acting as the special investigator in the scandal.
One of President Trump’s lawyers didn’t rule out that Mr. Trump could fire, the special counsel appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to oversee the FBI’s investigation into Russian election meddling and any ties between Russia and the Trump campaign.
“Look, the president of the United States, as we all know, is a unitary executive,” Jay Sekulow, a member of Mr. Trump’s legal team, said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.” “But the president is going to seek the advice of his counsel and inside the government as well as outside. And I’m not going to speculate on what he will or will not do.”
“But right now the role of the president is to govern the United States of America,” Sekulow continued. “He’s going to do that. He’s going to leave anything else to the lawyers. But I can’t imagine that that issue is going to arise. But that again is an issue that the president with his advisers would discuss if there was a basis.”
Trump once made this exact same type for threat to Comey, saying it’s “not too late” to fire him, which is exactly what happened. So, there’s no reason to think the same won’t happen to Mueller.
The firestorm that ensued after Trump fired Comey may look like nothing if Trump were to go through with getting rid of Mueller too. This is not the behavior of an innocent man. I almost hope he goes ahead and does it, though, because it might finally be the idiotic move that will bring this clown crashing down and Congress won’t have any choice but to act.
