The likelihood of fixer/lawyer Michael Cohen flipping on popular vote loser Donald Trump in cooperation with federal prosecutors is growing by the minute. Cohen no longer has legal representation (for now), and some sources say he’s already made the flip on Trump. If true, this could be devastating for Trump and his presidency.
Scott Dworkin from the Democratic Coalition puts it like this: “BREAKING: Michael Cohen no longer has legal representation, and a source tells ABC he is going to cooperate with federal prosecutors in New York. This would mean Cohen flipped on Trump. Which would be the most devastating blow to him yet. It could end his presidency. Tick-tock.”
Dworkin is referring to the ABC News report that Michael Cohen is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in New York.
“A source told the network that the law firm that has been representing Cohen is not expected to work with him going forward. Replacements for the lawyers have not been named.
Attorneys Stephen Ryan and Todd Harrison from New York firm McDermott, Will & Emery LLP had previously been representing Cohen.”
This is all stemming from the fact that the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney’s Office is investigating Michael Cohen for various possible crimes, which includes potential bank fraud and campaign finance violations. Of course, Cohen has denied any wrongdoing.
A portion of the materials seized during the FBI raid of Cohen’s properties were reportedly connected to the $130,000 payment that Cohen made to Stormy Daniels, who claims that she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and was paid off to stay quiet about it.
