Every single time a major bombshell drops about the Russian scandal and those closest to him, Trump goes off the deep end on a rant, usually on Twitter. This time is no different. Trump has all but declared a nuclear war with North Korea simply to distract from the fact that the FBI has raided Paul Manafort’s house.
Well, that clearly didn’t work, so Trump has decided to give hid distraction game another shot. This time, he’s moving on to attacking those closest to him like Mitch McConnell. Trump tweeted “Senator Mitch McConnell said I had ‘excessive expectations,’ but I don’t think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?” Trump is desperate to have anything else in the headlines.
Sean Hannity began attacking McConnell today as well, calling him a “weak, spineless leader”. Clearly Hannity got the memo from Trump about what he was allowed to report.
The fact that Trump would rather attack one of his only allies in Washington than let the media do their job is just sad. Despite his best efforts, the media is still focusing on Paul Manafort and the Russia investigation. It looks like Trump lit the McConnell bridge on fire for nothing.
